The March blizzard has arrived in Colorado, and from what the forecast predicts, it will be a wet and snowy next few days in most parts of the state. Many schools and businesses have canceled classes or closed for the day due to heavy snow, and parts of the highway have even been shut down.

Ironically, four of Colorado's ski resorts were forced to close on March 14 because of too much snow. Who knew that could even happen?

After getting more than 16 inches of snow overnight and the closure of I-70, Loveland Ski Area decided to close for the day.

Arapahoe Basin announced it would also be closed due to extreme weather conditions and the closure of Highway 6.

For the safety of guests, Eldora Ski Resort is officially closed today too. The resort received more than 30 inches overnight and has experienced multiple snow slides on the access road. Plows were having trouble carving their way through Shelf Road. Eldora hopes to resume normal operations on March 15.

Heavy snow and high winds also caused the closure of Monarch Mountain in Salida. According to the mountain webcams, it's a total white-out at the resort today!

Steamboat Ski Resort remained open, however, several of the lifts were closed because of blowing snow.

Neither the employees nor guests can get to these resorts because of the adverse conditions. Many people are stuck in places like Silverthorn and Summit County, waiting for the roads to open back up.

Once the resorts do return to normal operations, there will be plenty of fresh powder for skiers and snowboarders to take advantage of.
