Gas prices are insane with everything going on. Do you remember when you could fill up your shopping cart for less than $100? And water bills are currently through the roof. Sigh.

Where is all of our money going, and why did it used to stretch so far? Now it feels like you have to be wealthy to get more than five things at Costco.

At least once a week, I hear from friends wanting to meet for a Friday night dinner with drinks. The usual cost (for Ryan and me) to have a night out can hit over $200. That’s insanity—and it’s not like we’re alcoholics!

Frankly, I prefer smoking a J before leaving the house rather than paying $14.00 for a fancy drink.

Here Are Some Northern Colorado Ideas for FREE activities if money is tight.

  • Parks in Northern Colorado are a solid free adventure. There are literally hundreds around Northern Colorado. Maybe do some park hopping and hit 3 or 4 in one day!
  • Hit up Old Town Fort Collins and walk along the famous strip, complete with plenty of artisan and local shops. You don’t have to buy anything, but you sure can walk around and touch everything. That’s what I do.
  • Why not pack a picnic? This weekend’s weather will be perfect to lay out a blanket and relax with some homemade sandwiches.
