Fort Collins Recreation Worker Dies in Zamboni Accident
On Wednesday, January 28th, a city recreation worker died after a Zamboni accident.
This took place at the Edora Pool Ice Center.

Zamboni Accident Details at Edora Pool Ice Center
City officials are saying that the Zamboni backed into a partially open overhead door just after noon yesterday.
The worker was taken to a hospital according to reports, but he later passed away.
Fortunately, no one else was hurt.
Fort Collins City Manager Responds to Tragic Zamboni Incident
Fort Collins City Manager Kelly DiMartino says it's a devastating loss and goes on to say that the city's heart is with the workers loved ones and coworkers.
“We remain committed to the safety and security of City staff and every member of our community,” City Manager Kelly DiMartino said.
“This pause in our ice rink operations is out of an abundance of caution, to allow for staff support, and to provide time and space to understand the circumstances surrounding the event.”

Edora Pool Ice Center Closed for Safety Review
This Fort Collins ice rink will be closed through Friday, January 30th while the city reviews safety procedures.
According to a report from Denver 7, the city of Fort Collins will not be releasing the driver's name at this time.
This is due to the ongoing investigation into what exactly happened and also out of respect for the family and fellow staff.
Our hearts go out to the staff, friends, and family of the worker who lost their life.
