Toby Keith Dead After Battle With Stomach Cancer

I'll be honest, waking up to the news that Toby Keith, one of the world's most known and beloved country singers had passed away, I was shocked. I mean truthfully, did anyone have that on their 2024 Bingo card?

Making his debut back in the early 90s, Toby Keith quickly rose to the very top of the country music world and stayed there for nearly two decades. Toby not only topped the country charts, but he would soon transcend to music lovers of all genres.

Toby Keith Loved Colorado And Colorado Loved Him Back

As a kid born and raised in Colorado, we had many opportunities to sing our hearts out at a lot of live Toby Keith shows over three decades. From the world-famous Grizzly Rose to Fiddlers Green, Ball Arena, Greeley Stampede, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and even the Blue Arena in Loveland, where he played his very last Colorado date back in 2021.

In addition to his many live Colorado shows, Toby Keith loved our state so much that he opened his "I Love This Bar & Grill" in Stapelton, Colorado. Sadly, the bar closed in 2015, but not before hosting some truly amazing live concerts and events.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and spending a little time with Toby a handful of times over the years, and behind the scenes, he was exactly who you'd see on stage. Genuinely one of the nicest and most sincere artists I ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Toby Keith left his mark on Colorado, and we will never forget the "Big Dawg Daddy" ever. Rest In Peace, Toby, and thank you for all of the special Colorado moments you made happen. With a red solo cup lifted high, cheers.
