Almost every square foot of Grand Junction is peaceful, but this particular location might just be the cream of the crop. Is this quiet little spot on the Audubon Trail the single most peaceful location in the entire valley?

If you've ever walked the Audubon Trail before, then you know this spot. It's only a few hundred feet from the Connected Lakes parking area. The location offers, trees, water, wildlife, and even a perfectly situated memorial bench.

From time to time you spot a fisherman or two utilizing this space. The Redlands canal is only a few feet deep at this point and relatively free of bouncy water.

The park bench itself is a masterpiece. Engraved in the granite you'll find the following:

The next chance you get, you should consider heading to the Audubon Trail to visit this site. In the event you don't have a Colorado Parks pass, you can park for free at the trail head located at the Redland's Albertson's store. You're looking at a good 45-minute walk from that point to this bench, but it's well worth it.
