How To Visit Glenwood Springs Adventure Park Right Now

Believe it or not, one of western Colorado's most popular attractions is open for business.

Little by little western Colorado is opening up and we are seeing more activities available to recreation enthusiasts.

Glenwood Springs Adventure Park is one attraction that is now open to fun-seekers, but, as you would expect things look very different right now.

If you want to visit the park, there is a specific process you'll need to follow and it begins on the theme park's website.

The first step is to select the date you want to visit the park, and what time you want to enter the park. Online reservations are required for everyone wanting to visit the park.

When you go to the website to purchase tickets you will have the opportunity to select the date of your visit. Once you select your desired date, you have one hour blocks of time to choose from in which you are expected to arrive at the gondola base.

The next step is to choose what type of pass you want to purchase. That could be anything from the gondola only for $20, the gondola and cave for $33, or the all-inclusive pass for $59. Children's passes for ages 3-13 are slightly less. At this point, you are ready to finalize your reservation and make your purchase, but you will be asked to sign an online waiver for touch-free entry before checking out.

Here are some other things you should know before you go. Capacity at the park is limited, which explains why you need to make a reservation and schedule your entry time. The good news is if you are a season pass holder you don't need to make a reservation.

Park employees will be wearing masks, and guests are required to wear face coverings as well. They have social distancing markers in place, additional hand-sanitizing stations, and frequent cleaning and disinfecting throughout the property. If you feel safe at the grocery store, you can probably feel safe at the park.

The procedures in place at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park are likely to be the new normal for the foreseeable future. The key thing is to be informed before you go to any attraction so you will know what to expect. For example, it would be a shame to drive all the way to Glenwood without a mask only to then discover you need one to get in.

You may or may not be interested in visiting Glenwood Springs right now, but just the fact that things are opening up is an encouraging sign. We are all looking for signs of hope that things are getting better - and this is one of those signs.
