Most people have heard the common tale that 1 human year equals 7 dog years, but it's actually more complicated than that because dogs reach adulthood within the first couple of years.

However there is a more accurate formula that was developed by a canine expert and goes something like this: 10.5 dog years per human year for the first 2 years, then 4 dog years per human year for each year after. Which means: (H=Human, D=Dog)

• 12 H = 1 D
• 21 H = 2 D
• 25 H = 3 D
• 30 H = 4.25 D
• 40 H = 6.75 D
