So a friend of mine was passing through Grand Junction and texts me, how did Grand Junction get its name? I really didn't know? She thought maybe a railroad crossing. You would think me being here an entire year I would know the answer but I didn't I had to look it up.

This is what I found according to Wikipedia, the reason it was named Grand Junction is because of the Colorado River and the Gunnison River.  Grand" refers to the historical Grand River, and Junction" refers to the  Colorado and Gunnison rivers. 

So, therefore it was named Grand Junction. Grand Junction has also been nicknamed River City. Do you think Grand Junction fits the name of this City or would a better name fit? What do you think?
