HOPE of the Grand Valley is a nonprofit organization that exists to help those who need a hand up, not a handout.

For residents of the Grand Valley, HOPE has helped in a number of ways, fostering and encouraging independence and self-sufficiency by standing in the breach and helping buy food, or Christmas gifts or diapers. Giving families, well, hope. People who work hard sometimes come up short. And that's where HOTGV comes in.

But in order to continue to help the people of the Grand Valley they need money, just like everyone else, and recently, they were the recipients of a very nice gift.

The Giving Club recently chose Hope of the Grand Valley, out of dozens of other worthy organizations, to receive a check in the amount of $19,000. This is going to allow Hope of the Grand Valley to help even more families.

This shows one more reason why the Grand Valley is a wonderful place to raise children and work. A beautiful place to live and some really exceptional people to help when help is needed.

Congratulations, Vicki McGee and Hope of the Grand Valley.
