Grand Junction and craft beer go hand-in-hand, but a hops shortage may be changing that.

Hops is a a key ingredient to flavoring craft beers and making them stand out from other beers. With a shortage in hops, craft beer prices will be going up, or worse, some might not be sold at all.

This past summer's dry and hot overall conditions weakened the hop harvest. Last year it was reported craft beers were becoming so popular that prices would have to go up in order to keep up with supply and demand. This year, with craft beers still up and trending but the hops crops down, it isn't looking good for the craft beer drinkers.

We all know that higher demand and shortage of product is no ideal mix. If you have a favorite hops-heavy beer, you might want to stock up.
