Here are the Country Artists We Want to Come to Grand Junction
We all have a dream concert, an artist or a band that we would love to come to perform in our hometown. We were tossing around ideas on Facebook and there were lots of good suggestions that were mentioned.
The exact question that was asked was, "What country artist that has never played in the Grand Valley, should come here?". Answers were all over the place but here were the suggestions that came in online:
- George Strait
- Mickey Gilley
- Johnny Lee
- John Conlee
- Kathy Mattea
- T.G. Sheppard
- Patty Loveless (although it was mentioned she has played Country Jam before)
- Reba McEntire (although it was mentioned she has played Country Jam before)
- Shania Twain
- Garth Brooks
- Cody Jinks
- Tyler Childers
- Sturgill Simpson
- Orville Peck
- Dolly Parton
- Morgan Wallen
- Hayden Powell
- Midland
- Chris Stapleton
- Kane Brown (who will be at Country Jam this year)
What I love about this list is that is consists of both older and newer country artists. There are people on this list who have been labeled "King" as well as people on this list that are still trying to make a name for themselves. The country music audience here in Western Colorado is all over the place but there always seems to be a good audience that shows up for all the live shows we get here in Grand Junction. Which is always fun to see and be apart of.
If I had to pick, I would love to see George Strait. I realize it's probably never going to happen here in Grand Junction, but I would travel to see King George. Having seen Garth Brooks perform four times now, I still love Garth, but I need to see King George at least once.
