Greeley Police found human remains in a burning vehicle on Wednesday, according to a Greeley Tribune report.

Authorities were dispatched at about 4:15 p.m. to the incident near a remote water tower on 29th Street in west Greeley.

The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when police and firefighters arrived. When the fire was extinguished, the human remains were discovered.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

Greeley Police told the Tribune that the department requested assistance from Colorado Bureau of Investigation. The vehicle type was not immediately released to the public.
