Kids and families who love the splash pad downtown will have to say ‘so long’ to their favorite water spot, Grand Junction’s downtown splash pad will be closing down this summer.

Harry Weiss, Director of the DDA, told KJCT Channel 8, the original intent behind the splash pad was to offer an “attractive water feature” to Main Street. It was meant for minimal use by the public.

Don’t be too sad though, the Lincoln Park splash pad will now be free this summer due to the continual demand placed on Main Street’s splash pad.

The City of Grand Junction hopes this will help the Main Street splash pad to return to its original purpose.

The Lincoln Park splash pad will stay open from 10:00 am until 7:30 am.
