Aspen's Christ Episcopal Church offers a remarkable free concert series, featuring a variety of musical genres. Last Saturday, the Grand Junction quartet "Cool Jazz" made the road trip to perform for Aspen's "Music Of The West End."

"Cool Jazz," consisting of Shelly Warren, Amy Markakis, Rob Labig, and Waylon Jordan, made their Aspen debut on Saturday, performing the Claude Bolling Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano. This particular piece combines both Jazz and Classical into a seven movement composition. The "Suite For Flute and Piano" spent a total of 540 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
