There is at least one other Grand Junction in the United States. This one is in Michigan. Is it as cool as ours is here in Colorado? Take a look. Thanks to the Runyan family.

Located in Michigan, there is an unincorporated town that carries the Grand Junction namesake.

We know that Grand Junction, CO got it's name from the two rivers combining, but in Michigan the name came about due to the railroad lines coming together. History tells us that the official founder was a man named David Young and the area settled in Autumn of 1869.

Grand Junction, MI is actually one of three settlements that make up what is known as the Columbia Township in Van Buren County.

One thing I did notice, in researching this, was quite surprising. It's the geography. Get this, the area the Grand Junction, MI is in totals 35.5 square miles with only 1.4 square miles of water. While here in Grand Junction, CO it is 38.2 square miles with only .39 square miles of water. That's pretty similar for being that far away. Perhaps it is a real long lost 'twin' city.

Are there other Grand Junction Twin Cities out there?

Stay tuned for Part Two coming soon.
