I had no idea what to expect with the Grand Junction Symphony's "Rockestra" Saturday night at CMU's Moss Theater.  WOW!  I had my socks rocked off!  This was not my daddy's symphony concert!!  Their theme was "Rock 'n Roll From the Movies" and they had the standing room only crowd clapping or singing along (my apologies to people who sat near me) from the first song to the last.  The vocalists shined all night, including the male vocalists nailing the high notes from the Beach Boys to Journey to Rick Derenger (ask an old person about his music).  To me, the guy who put the ROCK in "Rockestra" was lead guitarist Scott Davis.  The man played every song and can grind that ax!!

I'm looking forward to the Grand Junction Symphony's next "Rockestra" on May 19.  You will be glad if you go, too!  Unless you'd rather stay home and watch another rerun of Criminal Minds.  In that case, I'm guessing "Your Mama Don't Dance and Your Daddy Don't Rock 'n Roll!"

Dr. Scott
