Musicians from across Western Colorado came to Grand Junction on Saturday to pay their respects to bar owner and music lover Jimmy Rose.

In attendance at Saturday's event at VFW Post 1247 on Ute Avenue in Grand Junction were musicians who had worked for Rose at one point or another in their careers. For decades, Jimmy Rose ran live music, sometimes seven days a week, at his clubs J.J.'s Lounge and Jimmy's Roadhouse.

In addition to local musicians, former employees of the venues, as well as past patrons, dropped in to pay their respects. From time to time, a performer would even get up on stage or take to the piano to crank out a tune in Jimmy's memory.

Artists in attendance at the event included Gerry Goodman, Greg Achord, Ted Dussor, Huey Plumleigh, Ray Ball, and Bruce Safkin.

Jimmy Rose passed away last December at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction.
