Grand Junction Counseling Center Offering Free Meals For Summer
A Grand Junction, Colorado counseling center is offering free breakfast and dinner throughout the summer. Those 18 and under are eligible to take advantage of this offer.
Free meals are available Monday through Saturday at their location on North Avenue in Grand Junction.
Free Breakfast and Dinner For Grand Junction Residents 18 and Under
Those looking for a free meal can visit the Amos Counseling building at 1131 North 21 Street in Grand Junction. You'll find it on the north side of North Avenue, across from the Veterans Hospital.

A Facebook post states, "We will be offering breakfast from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and supper from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday." The post adds, "Anyone 18 and under is eligible."
Foods Being Served
I had the opportunity to speak with one of the organizers, Spencer Es-Jay Pendry, regarding the foods to be served. According to Pendry, the foods selected are in accordance with the state food program. This effort, in conjunction with the Foodbank of the Rockies, provides non-perishable foods to the public.
How To Participate
If you or someone you know is age 18 or younger and could use a free meal or meals, simply make your way to the Amos Counseling building at 1131 N. 21st Street in Grand Junction. The building offers ample parking. If using public transportation, several Grand Valley Transit dropoff locations can be found in the immediate area, with one being less than a half a block away.
Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, simply make your way to the front door on the east side of the building. From there, follow the banners to the serving area.
