More Classic Grand Junction Colorado Photos Found in a Box
Enjoy a collection of photos showcasing Grand Junction, Colorado area residents. All photos in this gallery were taken by late Daily Sentinel photographer Robert Grant.
These photos range from the 1950s to the early 1980s. They were all selected, or actually grabbed, from a box of Robert Grant photos marked "People Identified."

I did a similar gallery about two weeks ago. The gallery below features over 30 unseen photos of people and places from around Grand Junction, Colorado.
Grand Junction Colorado People Doing What They Do
This collection of Robert Grant photos features students, politicians, workers, people on strike, and people having fun. With the exception of all shots coming from the same photographer, they have nothing in common.
Look For Familiar Faces and Places From Around Grand Junction Colorado
These galleries are fun. Keep your eyes open, you may see someone you recognize. It happens all the time - someone sees a family member, friend, former teacher, etc., and they get in touch with me to share info.
A Lifetime of Work
Robert Grant worked at the Daily Sentinel from the late 1930s through his retirement in 1985, minus four years for his tour of duty with the U.S. Army in World War II. When Bob Grant, my grandpa, died in November 2000, I inherited his personal photo collection... hundreds of thousands of prints and negatives.
With any luck sometime before I bite the big one, these photos will get scanned and published, and make their way in front of the public.
Like my other Robert Grant galleries, these images were scanned from as-yet-unseen prints and negatives. These are not the photos that were published in the Daily Sentinel. Those are not mine to use. These, to be accurate, are those that wound up on the darkroom floor. They were not the prints he wished to use in the paper, but felt needed to be saved for posterity. I believe it is for this reason so many of the prints are of such odd dimensions. I suspect many were cropped as an experiment to determine the proper dimensions for those that did make the paper.
Another Grand Junction Colorado Gallery Is On The Horizon
There are enough unseen Rober Grant prints to keep me busy until sometime around the year 2054. Until that time, here's the latest round of Grand Junction, Colorado area pics.
