The Grand Valley has a plethora of talented artists, and many of them displayed their amazing work this past weekend at the Grand Junction Art Festival.

Art Festival Is Variety

The first thing you have to understand about the art festival is that art is so much more than paint on canvas. One of the definitions of art includes the word "expression" - and art included so many different ways that the artist can express themselves.

Yes, perhaps the largest category of art might be painting and drawing, and we saw a lot of that happening on Main Street, but artists can express themselves in many other ways as you will see in the photos below. Artistry is about creating something that reflects the heart, mind, and personality of the creator of that art - and doing it with skill.

Art on Display

On Saturday, some 70 artists displayed their work on Grand Junction's Main Street for all the world to see and purchase - and in some cases, simply to enjoy. Along with the hand-created art, we saw aerial artists and musical artists at this year's festival.

Grand Junction Art Festival 2021

Most of us remember Grand Junction's Art and Jazz Festival that happened over the three days of Mothers Day weekend. Nowadays the music festival happens in the spring and the art festival happens in the fall. If you missed this year's art festival in downtown Grand Junction, browse through the photos below to see some of the amazing artists we have in the Grand Valley.
