A mom in Glenwood Springs has been charged for exposing her 23-month-old daughter to meth. The child sadly got a hold of a bag of meth in her mom's backpack.

On February 10, Isury Mellin Tapia went to her mom's apartment, who is the legal guardian of her daughter. Isury used to live with her mom, until she was kicked out for using drugs, according to KDVR.

After Isury left her mom's apartment, her daughter started acting very stranger. According to her mom, the child was running around, moving her hands, and crying frequently. When Isury's mom told her about this, she told her to take the child to the emergency room.

Isury's daughter got a hold of a 'little baggie' of 'crystal' in her backpack, which she noticed about an hour after she left her mom's apartment, according to KDVR. Her mom begged her to tell the truth about the meth, but Isury didn't admit to the meth until later that night.

The poor 23-month-old girl tested positive for methamphetamine at Valley View Hosptial and has thankfully survived the incident. Isury's mom is the legal guardian of her daughter and has full custody, which she was granted when Isury was kicked out.

Isury has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and child abuse. We hope that her daughter will make a full recovery and according to Isury's Facebook profile, Isury is only 19 years old.
