This Fruita lady is definitely a cat lover.

When the weather started to turn a bit chillier here in the Grand Junction area, Connie Blaine decided to help out some cold critters.

She has created kitty shelters to help keep feral and outside cats a little warmer at night. In an article from the Grand Junction Sentinel, reporter Amy Hamilton shares the story with us.

This is more than a passion for Connie. Outside of building, selling and conducting presentations on how to use these shelters, she volunteers her time with the Grand Valley Pets Alive program. An organization that, in 2015, helped pay for more than 350 cats and dogs to be spade and neutered.

If you would like to own one of these shelters, please call 201-4251. Also, to help out the Grand Valley Pets Alive group, they will be hosting a fundraiser February 4 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill located at 2430 Patterson Road. The eatery will donate a portion of that evening's proceeds to the organization.
