Five Can’t Miss Wyoming Destinations
The longer winter goes on, the more we start thinking about getting out of town or planning our vacations.
So let's take a look at five great destinations we can go to in Wyoming, and go!
For amazing scenery, you could do a lot worse. The Teton range dominates the area, with the Grand Teton stretching 14,000 feet up. Over 200 miles of trails, or if you want to enjoy the scenery from another vantage point, you can always float down the Snake River. And if you're really hearty, backpack up the mountain, unroll your sleeping bag and sleep at a new altitude.
Have you're own "close encounter" at Devil's Tower. You've seen it in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", but what do you really know about it? Considered sacred by plains Indians, it's an amazing geological feature. And if you love climbing, this is one you could really get up on.
Enjoy the "Hot Spot" of Wyoming by relaxing in one of many natural hot springs, or go to the dinosaur center and check out some of the oldest prehistoric creatures ever to walk the earth.
From here you can go anywhere, but here is a pretty good place too. If you're s skier, the winter months are your time here, but for those who enjoy warmer activities, you can't go wrong in Jackson Hole. Every step you take in the town is a step perhaps an old gunfighter may have taken in the old west before prairie justice took over. Hiking, biking and more await you.
Cheyenne is known for one of the summer's best rodeos, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and it always gives those in attendance memories to last a lifetime but so does Cheyenne. Try your hand at archery, or saddle up for a horseback ride, do some rock climbing, then sleep in an amazing campground and start again.
As one of the most beautiful and wide-open states in the U.S. make sure you plan to visit.
