Interstate 70 travelers can expect delays this week in Glenwood Canyon.

According to the Post Independent, crews are doing some sign work in the Hanging Lake area, which is causing lane closures, traffic holds, and delays.

The good news is that the work is being done at non-peak travel times, which means the temporary closures will be happening in the overnight hours.

On Wednesday,  there will be a single lane closure on westbound I-70 from 8-11pm and again from 5-7am. From 11pm-5am, there will be full lane closures with 20-minute traffic holds.

The same schedule will be followed on Thursday for the eastbound lanes through the canyon.

The work includes installation of a variable message sign, so you will have something to read as you navigate the canyon curves.
