The Western Slope Concert Series will present two concerts with violist Stephanie Mientka and percussionist David Alderdice on Friday, January 8 at 7:30 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 536 Ouray, Grand Junction, and on Sunday, January 10 at 3 PM at the Montrose Pavilion. Tickets are available online at www.JunctionConcerts.com, and at Roper Music in Grand Junction and the Montrose Pavilion. All seats are reserved, and start at $9 in advance and $12 at the door for adults.
Violist Stephanie Mientka and percussionist David Alderdice will present a unique program of classical folk music from around the world, combining the beautiful, deep sounds of the viola with a fascinating variety of exotic acoustic percussion instruments. Featured composers are Bach, Hungarian Bela Bartok, and Spanish composter Manuel de Falla.
