Hailed as "rich" and "captivating" by the renowned music blog, "I Care If You Listen," the Altius Quartet is quickly garnering an international reputation and enrapturing the hearts of audiences everywhere. Altius was the silver medalist at the 2014 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in South Bend, IN, and were first prize recipients at both the 2014 Coltman Chamber Music Competition in Austin, TX, and the 2013 Plowman Chamber Music Competition in Columbia, MO. Altius has just competed at the Seventh Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition as one of eight string quartets selected worldwide. They will present a diverse program including works by Beethoven, William Bolcom’s charming “Three Rags,” and Schubert’s epic quartet “Death and the Maiden.”
