Dick Van Dyke Rescued From Burning Car

Ever have a guardian angel protect you from any kind of harm? Or do you know someone who believes a guardian angel has protected them in some way? It appears veteran actor Dick Van Dyke has a few guardian angels looking after him.

A spokesman for the California Highway Patrol confirmed that the 87-year-old Van Dyke’s car was reported on fire Monday on the shoulder of the Ventura Freeway. Van Dyke reportedly was seen slumped over the steering wheel, but a Good Samaritan pulled Van Dyke out of the car just seconds before the vehicle went up in flames.

Some off-duty nurses stopped to offer assistance, and firefighters arrived quickly to put out the blaze.

According to various news reports, Van Dyke was uninjured and was doing fine. No immediate information was available on the cause of the blaze.

After the incident, the actor tweeted this photo with the message, “Used Jag for sale REAL CHEAP!!”
