Well, it finally arrives this weekend -- don't forget to set your clocks forward an hour.

Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 AM Sunday and time for everyone to change those clocks again.

Like most people, I really don’t care for the time change in the spring because that means losing an hour of sleep Saturday night. But, it is what it is, and we just have to go on from there.

To help everyone through the transition of the time change this weekend, here’s a list of things to remember about the time change.

First of all, we will enter Daylight Saving Time – there’s no ‘s’ at the end of the word Saving. I know it’s tempting to say Daylight “SAVINGS” Time – just a friendly reminder to drop that ‘s’.

Secondly, Daylight Saving Time will start at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 10. It’s a good idea to set your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed Saturday night. Otherwise, you might wind up being late to church or work or anyplace else that you have to go to on Sunday.

Thirdly, as I stated earlier, we lose an hour of sleep. Maybe some of us can make up for it by taking a nap Sunday afternoon.

Number 4 – Daylight Saving Time will last through Sunday, November 3. That’s when we get that hour of sleep back.

Item number 5 – Some places do not observe Daylight Saving Time, and therefore don’t have to worry about changing their clocks. If you live in Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam, or American Samoa, these areas don’t have the same worries as the rest of us when it comes to changing the clocks.

And lastly, when it comes to changing those clocks Saturday night, it would be a good time to change the batteries in those smoke alarms. Safety experts want everyone to realize that batteries CAN expire, which could be a bad thing (in more ways than one). Safety experts hope that everyone will make it a habit to combine the practices of changing their clocks and smoke alarm batteries at the same time.

As for Daylight Saving Time – BRING IT ON!
