For most people having the chance to represent our country in the Olympics would be a dream come true. People work their whole life for an opportunity like this and one cyclist from Durango decided to decline a spot that could have given him that chance.

The Durango Herald is reporting that Sepp Kuss has declined the spot because he is going to remain focused on Tour de France, and Vuelta Espana. I'm not even going to begin to act like I know a whole lot about cycling. But I do know that to be an Olympic athlete at any level is a gigantic accomplishment. And if he is turning down this chance, obviously these races mean more to him than anything.

Sepp Kuss Was Planning to Ride in the Olympics Before The Pandemic

Our amazing cyclist out of Durango was named to the long team by USA Cycling and was expected to be ready for the Summer Games in Tokyo. But the pandemic pushed the games back which is now messing with his training schedule so he had some tough decisions to make on what events he wants to train for.

His announcement to decline the consideration for the USA Olympic Road Team was made on Instagram.
