A couple in Loveland was beaten with a bat in their home by a man who seemed bent on revenge.

Amy Trimble said it took the man no time at all to break down their door and start beating her and her husband with a baseball bat, all while a t-shirt covered his face.

The man, Andrew Matthews, was apparently upset that Trimble's husband, Gerald had moved back in with his wife after patching things up with her. Trimble had stayed with Matthews at that time and apparently was not happy with the decision.

Matthews had threatened Trimble prior to the attack that occurred in their home and beat him so badly he needed brain surgery and had six inches of his skull removed.

Gerald Trimble has a lot of therapy to go through and has only recently shown signs of improvement.

Matthews has bonded out of jail and is now awaiting trial on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault and burglary.

A Go-Fund-Me page has been set up for the family as Gerald, who was a contractor at the time of the attack, is unable to work and is reading at a fifth-grade level.
