Country Jam 2018 artist Lauren Alaina had a #1 hit with "Road Less Traveled." Listen as she discusses the inspiration behind the song.

I had a chance to sit down with Lauren Alaina backstage at Grand Junction's Country Jam on Sunday, June 17. While I'm definitely a fan, I'm a particular fan of the song "Road Less Traveled." More than anything, I have a deep appreciation for the message.

The book "Road Less Traveled," by M. Scott Peck, is one of my all-time favorites. If you haven't read it, I suggest you get a copy and put it at the top of your priority list. The book was originally published in 1978. It has since achieved tremendous popularity with the "spirituality" crowd.

Much to my surprise, Lauren Alaina has not read the book. She does have a copy. To date, though, she has not started reading it.

Sorry about all the background noise on the video. We were just west of the stage during another performance.

In addition to a great song and a number one single, "Road Less Traveled" is also the name of Alaina's second studio album. It was released on January 27, 2017.
