State Troopers in Colorado are helping to educate parents and families on car seat safety.

In an astonishing statistic, 80 percent of car seats, in use right now, are being installed improperly. That puts your child in danger every time you drive.

The time to get that corrected is now.

With the help of the Colorado State Troopers, Colorado parents can feel safe about their car seats. The troopers are offering free car seat checks, along with disposal options for old, broken or expired car seats. This all in the name of safety.

The Colorado State Troopers now have certified specialists that will review your current car seat situation and advise on what you need to do correctly and safely. You can take advantage of one of the several options. First, you can call to make an appointment during their regular business hours at (970) 858-2250.

You can also stop by the State Patrol station in Fruita at 554 Jurassic Ct to either recycle or drop off your older and expired car seats.

Or you can even catch them out on patrol.
