3 Fun Nights You’ll Love at the Colorado Stampede Rodeo
Memorial Day Weekend is rodeo weekend at the Mesa County Fairgrounds in Grand Junction. The Colorado Stampede dates back to the 1950s on the Western Slope, and it's great to have them back in 2025.
The Colorado Stampede is back in Grand Junction from May 23rd to the 25th. Learn more about all three nights of the rodeo below, and find a chance to win tickets on our station app.

Saddle Up for a Grand Junction Tradition
The following events are a part of the 2025 Colorado Stampede Rodeo:
- Bareback Riding: Riders hold a rigging with one hand and try to stay on a bucking horse for 8 seconds.
- Steer Wrestling: Cowboys jump off a horse at full gallop and wrestle a running steer to the ground.
- Breakaway Roping: Cowgirls rope a calf with a special rope that breaks when pulled tight, which stops the clock.
- Team Roping: One rider ropes the head of a steer, the other ropes the hind legs.
- Saddle Bronc Riding: Riders on a special saddle must stay on a bucking horse for 8 seconds.
- ⛓ Tie-Down Roping: Rope the calf on horseback, then jump down and tie three legs together. Fastest time wins.
- Barrel Racing: Riders guide a horse around three barrels without knocking them over before the clock expires.
- Bull Riding: Stay on the bucking bull for 8 seconds using one hand.
Celebrate Community and Special Appreciation Nights

- Saturday, May 24: First Responder and Healthcare Worker Appreciation Night – honoring those who serve.
- Sunday, May 25: Family Night – a fun-filled evening for all ages
