Colorado Spring Hikes: Curecanti National Recreation Area

This place has more than just hikes, too.

This beautiful area, located near Gunnison has just about everything. If you love to fish, boat, hike or camp, this is the place for you.

There are several reservoirs along the park that make for some excellent fun, whether you just like to boat and look at the scenery or birds, or whether you like to9 fish and catch delicious salmon and trout you will love it.

For campers, there are ten campgrounds for you to enjoy, which keeps you close to the water. Some have electric hook-ups and some don't so make sure you check to see if the campgrounds fit your needs.

Hiking at Curecanti is another highlight. Take your pet, on a leash, and get out and see the amazing colors around you. Wildflowers, wildlife, and more await.

Curecanti is open year round, 24 hours a day. Reservations are required in some camping areas so be sure to scout out where you want to stay and just get out there and have fun.
