Live Christmas Trees in Grand Junction with a Great Cause
The hunt is on for the perfect Christmas tree this December, and if you want your tree to mean even more this year, you might consider buying one from a local Grand Junction scout troop.
Western Colorado’s Scout Troop 303 has set up a Christmas Tree lot at the Mount Garfield Greenhouse & Nursery on F Road. If you are looking for a live tree this year and want to support our community, here is an easy way to check both boxes.

Did you know that Boy Scout Troop 303 has served Grand Junction for more than 30 years? Each year, the Christmas Tree sale is part of a major fundraiser. Many scout troops across the country sell trees, and it's a popular way to fund activities like summer camp, outdoor gear, and scouting experiences in the upcoming year.
I had a chance to visit the lot and met a young man named Cameron who greeted me, told me about the Christmas trees, and was among the scouts ready to do everything from tying up the trees to loading them into customers' cars.
This year, when you buy a Christmas Tree from Scout Troop 303, you can help these kids fund their 2026 summer trip to Mount Rushmore. It’s a great way to help these young Coloradans learn more about their country, and to pass on the American tradition.
What’s for Sale: Trees, Wreaths & More
Troop 303 is offering fresh-cut trees, typically 6 to 9 feet tall, which are just the right size for most homes in the Grand Valley. They have door wreaths, too, for a little extra holiday greenery. Prices vary depending on tree size and availability. You can call ahead at 970-434-2788 or chat with the troops before making a purchase.
