You read that right. The Colorado Rockies are one win away from winning their first division title in their 25-year history.

All they have to do is go to Los Angeles and beat the Dodgers in a one-game playoff to determine who wins the division and who goes to a one-game wild-card playoff.

This will be the fourth time the Rockies have made the playoffs in 25 years. They were the wild card entry in each season, making it to the World Series in 2007, where they were swept by the Boston Red Sox.

The Rockies took one of the wild card spots last year, so this is the first time in their history they have made the playoffs in successive seasons, but their focus today is on the division title.

The Rockies will send German Marquez to the mound today to win the division. The Dodgers counter with a rookie, Walker Buehler, Over his last 11 starts, he has an earned run average (ERA) of 1.70 while Marquez has gone unbeaten this year against the Dodgers.

Should the Rockies win, they will host the Atlanta Braves in game one of the Divisional Series on Thursday. If they lose, they travel to either Chicago or Milwaukee for one game to determine who goes on in the playoffs and who goes home.

Could this be the year?
