Entertainment has been a little hard to come by these last 10 months, and right here, right now, 2021 isn't looking much better. It's time for Colorado to get into gear and begin training for the 2021 USA Mullet Championships.

You may recall Colorado's strong showing in 2020 in the children's division. A 7-year-old from Colorado brought home the bronze in the children's competition. Colorado's representative, Jude, sported what was referred to as the "Modern Mullet." Jude was the only finalist to showcase a multi-color entry.

Well, that's all ancient history. It's a new year, and a new competition is underway. What about the adult crowd? If you're interested in competing for the 2021 title, there are a number of things you must do to participate. Registration is already underway.

First, you'll need to grow a mullet. This may be easier said than done. Personally, it's all I can do to keep any hair at all on my head and out of my shower drain. The odds of my growing a successful mullet are non-existent.

Please keep in mind, a mullet is not a mullet is not a mullet. According to the 2021 Mullet USA Championship registration form, there are several varieties of mullet to choose from. These would include:

  • The Modern Mullet (Colorado's proven secret weapon)
  • The Kentucky Waterfall
  • The Spiky Mullet
  • The Pompadour
  • The Beaver Tail
  • The Extreme Mullet
  • The Shag
  • The Curly Mullet
  • The Rat Tail
  • The Mullet + Beard Combo

Once you've grown your mullet, the next step would be to fill out the 2021 registration form. Registration consists of name, address, email, and your particular "style" of mullet. When registering, you can include up to four photos of your mullet. If competing in the adult division, you'll need to be at least 18 years of age.

Once you've registered, you'll automatically be kept in the loop as far as developments for the 2021 competition.

Put simply... why not? The 2020 quarantine meant many of us went months without a visit to the hair salon. What better time to kick off your mullet training?

We can do this, Colorado. The trophy will be ours in 2021. We've already done well in the kid's division. Now it's time to step up to the plate in the adult competition. Register now.
