1894-S Barber Dime
The 1894-S Barber dime is one of the rarest coins in America. Designed and minted in 1894, only nine of these coins were ever released. The coin was designed by Charles E. Barber in San Fransisco. One of these dimes was sold at a Denver auction in 2016 for $1.99 million.
1794 Flowing Hair Dollar
The 1794 Flowing Hair Dollar is believed to be the first silver dollar struck by the United States Mint. About 1,800 of these coins were produced, with only 130 remaining today. The coin features Lady Liberty with flowing hair and an eagle on the reverse side. One of them was sold at auction in Colorado in 2022 for $12 million.
1878 Brasher Doubloon
The Brasher Doubloon was created by Ephraim Brasher in New York City. This coin shows a rising sun on one side and an American eagle and shield on the other. There are believed to be seven Brasher Doubloons still out there in 2024. One was sold at a Colorado auction for $7.3 million in 2011, making it the second most valuable coin ever sold in Colorado.
1861 Paquet Liberty Head Double Eagle
French engraver Joseph Paquet minted the coin during the Civil War in 1861. This coin shows off Lady Liberty on one side and an American eagle on the other. Only 50 of these coins were ever produced. About 20 of them remain today. One was sold in Colorado during a 2021 auction. It was the third most valuable coin ever sold in Colorado.
1913 Liberty Head Nickel
A 1913 Liberty Head Nickel was sold in Colorado in 2012 for 3.18 million dollars.
1907 High Relief Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle
One of the double eagles was sold in Colorado in 2015. It went for 2.4 million dollars.
1933 Double Eagle
A 1933 Double Eagle was sold in Colorado back in 2017. This coin earned 2.02 million dollars.
