What are Colorado's Trickiest Names?
Saguache is a word that was used by the Ute Indians and means 'blue earth.' It's a town of about 500 residents that is often mispronounced by guests as "sa-GATCH-ee". The town is pronounced, "sa-WAH-chee".
Buena Vista is another town that was brought up a couple of times in the gallery above. The typical Spanish pronunciation of Buena is not used in this instance. The town is pronounced Buu-nah Vista", not "bwen-ah".

Most Mispronounced Butte?
