A home in Steamboat Springs costs about the same as a home in the suburbs of Seattle, Washington. The town at the top of the list of the most expensive places to live in America was the town of Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts. Homes in Vineyard Haven cost over $850,000 yet most folks who live there earn about $77,000. Imagine what they could buy in Palisade for $850,000. A lot more wine, that's for sure.
