The Colorado Mesa University Chamber Choir, directed by Dr. Monte Atkinson, will present two performances at world famous Carnegie Hall next month.

The CMU Chamber Choir is a 27-piece ensemble comprised entirely by students of the university. The choir has been invited to perform a solo concert at the hall, followed two nights later with a joint performance with other invited ensembles to present Brahm's Requiem with famed composer and conductor John Rutter.

The CMU students have been working diligently to prepare the considerable amount of music required for both concerts. Laura Bradley, publicist for the CMU Department of Music, says, "they are honored to represent the Music Department and Colorado Mesa University this Spring in such special appearances."

CMU student composer and vocalist Christopher Arroyo will have an original composition performed by the choir, making its Carnegie Hall debut.

Before leaving for New York, the CMU Chamber Choir will present a "Pre-Carnegie Hall" concert at the Moss Performing Arts Center Recital Hall on May 7th at 7:30 p.m.
