
Popular Retail Chain To Close 500 Stores, All Colorado Locations

One of America's most popular craft stores and sewing supply depots is in the middle of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and just announced the closure of 500 of its stores. Let's take a closer look at why, and which locations are closing shop in Colorado now.

Popular Chain Closes 500 Stores, 6 in Colorado
Joann Fabrics is planning mass closures in 2025, including six Colorado locations. During an interview with USA Today Joann Fabrics personnel shared that six Colorado stores will close in the months ahead, along with another 490 stores nationwide.
Joann Fabrics then followed this announcement with an update saying they would now be closing ALL locations. Specific dates have not yet been made public. The following Colorado communities can expect to see their Joann store close up soon.
- 13861 E Exposition Ave in Aurora
- 7360 South Gartrell Road in Aurora
- 2440 Arapahoe Ave in Boulder
- 9090 East Phillips Place in Centennial
- 1601 Fall River Drive in Loveland
- 3449 Dillon Dr in Pueblo

All of Colorado's Soon To Be Ex Joann Locations
Joann Fabrics and Crafts moved into the former Colorado West Cinema 4 inside Mesa Mall in 2007. They re-opened a location in the mall in 2017.
The Fort Collins location on College Avenue has been open for more than 20 years. Here are the following Joann stores in Colorado that will remain open until the end of May 2025.

- 2580 South Colorado Blvd in Denver
- 2701 S. College Ave. Unit 160 in Fort Collins

Keep On Crafting in Colorado
Communities that may be losing their Joann Fabrics store can find similar craft stores around the state. In Grand Junction, crafters also visit Hobby Lobby at 1450 W Independent Ave and Michaels Arts and Crafts stores at 2464 Hwy 6 and 50 Ste E Grand Mesa.
