The 2024 concert season in Western Colorado has been one to remember, and while it's not over, plans are already coming together for 2025. Grand Junction's historic Avalon Theatre is getting ready for a visit from JJ Grey and Mofro in January next year.

Since 2001, JJ Grey and Mofro have released ten studio albums and extensive tours that featured memorable performances at events such as BonnarooAll Good Festival, and as part of Austin City Limits. Get ready to catch them live on the Western Slope when tickets go on sale Friday.

JJ Grey and Mofro in Grand Junction

JJ Grey & Mofro have been treating audiences to their soul-rock sounds since the 1990s when they started in Jacksonville, Florida. John Higginbotham, aka JJ Grey, combines blues, funk, soul, and rock with sounds and styles that have been compared to  Lynyrd SkynyrdJerry Reed, and Otis Redding. Songs written by the band have been used in popular TV shows such as  "House," "Friday Night Lights," and "The Glades."
