America's 249th birthday is coming up on July 4th, 2025. On the Western Slope, several Colorado communities have fun events and festivals planned, and many will celebrate with fireworks or laser shows.

4th of July Fireworks: Crested Butte, Colorado

Start the day with a pancake breakfast and parade on Elk Avenue. Enjoy live music followed by the Crested Butte fireworks display, launched from the Crested Butte Resort. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, and arrive early for the best parking.

This year's fireworks, scheduled for July 4th, are presented by the Delta Volunteer Fire Department. Enjoy the balloon festival from July 3rd through the 6th. Bring lawn chairs and blankets on the 4th to enjoy the fireworks over Confluence Lake.

Parking is limited at James M. Robb State Park on the 4th of July. The city will close Snooks Bottom Open Space for the entire day on July 3rd. Rotary Park and the Visitor Center are two of the best options for parking, if you can get it. Fireworks continue the following night in Grand Junction.
