Western Colorado, can you believe the holidays are right around the corner? I know friends who have purchased their December airfare and are already putting a dent in their holiday shopping.

This means Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, followed closely by tree lightings and holiday parades. So, wondering when the fun is taking place this year? Keep scrolling to see the holiday schedule for Grand Junction, Fruita, Delta, and Montrose.

While the Fruita tree lighting has been a part of the parade of lights in the past, in some years, it has been a separate event. At the time of this publication, the Fruita Chamber has not announced “official details” about this year’s tree. We’ll keep an eye out here.

Grand Junction Tree Lighting & Parade of Lights

Santa will make his first trip of the season to Grand Junction on Saturday, November 22, for the downtown Tree Lighting. Santa will light the tree along with all the holiday lights and decorations throughout the downtown area. Once the tree is lit, children who wish to do so can visit with Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas.

The community of Delta, Colorado, will gather for the 2025 Tree Lighting followed by the Parade of Lights on Friday, December 5. The parade will travel north from 6th Street up to 2nd Street. The city website says parade paperwork will be available soon (check here).

Montrose — Tree Lighting + Parade of Lights

This year’s Christmas Tree Lighting in Montrose will take place on Friday, November 28. Enjoy hot cocoa, cookies, caroling, and a countdown to the tree lighting at 5:30 PM, held at the Montrose County Courthouse

Enjoy a Vintage Christmas at the Montrose, Colorado, Parade of Lights, coming up on Saturday, December 6. The fun starts at the intersection of N Pythian and W Main. See a map of the parade route here.
