Colorado High School Hires First Female Football Head Coach
Congratulations to Beth Buglione. Colorado's first female head football coach.
Nederland High School, about an hour west of Denver, is proud to announce their new head coach Beth Buglione. But, don't think for a second that this is some sort of publicity stunt. Coach Buglione has the resume to back it up. She played quarterback in the Independent Women's Football League for three years beginning in 2001, then went on to not only be the head coach, but also the general manager of the team until 2009.
She has coached a semi-pro nine-man team, then hired as an assistant at Philomath High in Oregon and most recently was the head coach at Sheridan High in Oregon.
Nederland High School principle stated 'She was flat out the best person for the job, I think we had close to 40 applicants for this position and she really just stood out with how she carried herself, how she grew the game and how she pushes it forward.'
Good luck Coach Buglione!
