A family from Colorado thinks their photos from their vacation at Universal Studios may have a racist gesture in them.

When Tiffany and Richard Zinger saw the photos of their daughter with the Universal Studios character Gru from the Despicable Me movies, they notice something a bit strange. The hand of Gru that is on the shoulder of their daughter is holding up the "ok" symbol.

It was just last week that the Anit-Defamation League denounced that symbol, which in some context has been used as a hate symbol. Tiffany and Richard, who are African-American, believe that may be the case with these pictures. The incident took place at one of the properties hotels back in March.

According to KKTV , NBCUniversal released this statement,  "We never want our guests to experience what this family did. This is not acceptable and we are sorry – and we are taking steps to make sure nothing like this happens again. We can’t discuss specifics about this incident, but we can confirm that the actor no longer works here. We remain in contact with the family and will work with them privately to make this right."
