Controversy continues to surround a Denver, Colorado baker. Jack Phillips is back in the news after he refuses to make another special requested cake.

We first heard about Jack Phillips back in June when he was found guilty of discrimination for refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding. He stated that his beliefs do not support a gay lifestyle and especially a marriage. So, the engaged couple filed suit against him.

That case is still pending as the U.S. Supreme Court has gotten involved. They will make a decision in December.  However, they may have another case involving Mr. Phillips on their hands soon.

It looks like another customer has asked for a very specific cake. A birthday cake. A birthday cake for Satan. A representative for an organization called The Satanic Temple is behind this request.

'It is a cake that is religious in theme, and since religion is a protected class, I am hoping that you will gladly bake this cake. As you see, the birthday cake in question is to celebrate the birthday of Lucifer, or as they [sic] are also known Satan who was born as Satan when he was cast from heaven by God.'

It sure seems like this is some sort of publicity stunt. I don't believe it is an actual cake order. Just some people trying to get a few minutes of fame. Yes, they are basing their argument on the current Colorado discrimination laws, but those may change in December.

Besides, who knows what type of cake Satan likes? Devils Food?
