The Hottest Summer On Earth
They told us the summer of 2023 would be the hottest summer on Earth. In 2024, it got even hotter. By September, we were told we had just survived the hottest summer in history. Get ready to leave them all behind.
The Old Farmer's Almanac released the summer forecast, and Colorado is expected to sizzle again. Their forecast calls for 'record-breaking heat' in July and August in Western Colorado, and most of the country. Could Grand Junction match or break our record high of 107 this summer?
Old Farmer's Almanac Summer Forecast
The Old Farmer's Almanac says most of Colorado will be experiencing above-average temperatures and less-than-average rainfall for the summer of 2025. Exceptions may be found in the far Northwestern corners of the state. The forecasters with the almanac say Colorado can expect summer's extreme heat by late June. In Grand Junction, that means temps near 100 for most of July and August. Joy.

Record Temperatures in Western Colorado
While Grand Junction has touched 107 degrees a couple of times in recent years, the warmest temperature recorded in Montrose is 106 degrees back in 1947. Since 2002, Montrose has only reached 100 degrees on eight different occasions.
