Choose Your Champion for This Weekend’s ‘Clash of the Titans’

This Sunday, November 19, the Grand Junction Police Department will take on the Grand Junction Fire Department in a wicked, no-holds-barred game of Broomball. Who shall rise victorious in Guns vs. Hoses? Choose your champion!

The Glacier Ice Arena will host this clash of the titans this Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

What is Broomball, and how do you play it? According to USA Broomball, a designation which may or may not truly exist, but at the very least has a web page, the rules are as follows:

• A game has two halves (makes sense… it would be hard to have three “halves”)
• Goals are only 6′ by 8′, different in size compared to typical Hockey goals
• Each team consists of 1 Goalie, 3 Forwards, and 2 Defensemen

The Glacier Ice Arena is located at 2515 River Road in Grand Junction. Admission is $3 at the door, with all proceeds going towards a public safety family right here in Western Colorado.
